Genesis Advisor Alliance
You Built the Book. Now Build the Business Around It.
The Genesis Advisor Alliance is a structured affiliation for independent financial advisors who are ready to grow — with the infrastructure, technology, and coaching to do it without starting from scratch.
By 2027, independent RIAs are projected to surpass wirehouses in advisor-managed assets for the first time — 31% vs. 28% market share.

Who Is This For?
If you are at a wirehouse or captive channel and running the math on what you are leaving on the table, you already know the answer. The economics of independence have shifted decisively in favor of the advisor who owns their own book — and the barrier to making that move is no longer about payout. It is about standing up the infrastructure, navigating the transition process, and building a business operation that does not consume the time that belongs to your clients.
The Genesis Advisor Alliance also speaks directly to advisors who have already made the move to independence but find themselves building everything alone. You have the freedom — but you are also the IT department, the marketing department, the compliance coordinator, and the operations manager. The overhead of running a practice has a way of crowding out the work that actually grows the business.
This is not a recruiting pitch. It is an invitation for advisors who are serious about building something — advisors who want a real infrastructure behind them, access to tools that are actively working in an independent practice today, and a peer relationship with someone who has navigated both the wirehouse-to-independent transition and an independent-to-independent transition. If you are looking for a place to be one of many, this is not that. If you are looking for a focused, collaborative affiliation where your book stays yours and the tools around you actually get better over time, keep reading.
Group Leverage, Competitive Rates, and Your Book — Always
- Group production through Genesis Wealth Advisor Group creates collective leverage with Osaic Wealth — as the group grows, rates improve for every advisor affiliated under it, not just the top producers
- Transition bonuses are available for qualified breakaway advisors through Osaic; Scott works with you directly in the negotiation process to ensure you understand what is available
- Your book of business is yours — full stop; there are no joint rep code requirements, and affiliation does not create shared ownership of client relationships
- Each advisor is responsible for their own fees and obligations, which means your economics are transparent and your business is yours to run
- The structure is designed so that every advisor who joins and grows strengthens the position of the group — all boats rise with the tide.

What Makes This Different?
Most affiliation programs offer a back office and a grid. What they rarely offer is a living infrastructure — tools that are actively being used, refined, and improved in a real practice by the advisor running the program. The Genesis Advisor Alliance is not a static catalog of resources. Every tool in the stack, every workflow, every coaching framework is something Scott Jones is using in his own practice today. When something improves, every advisor in the Alliance has access to that improvement.
The Genesis Premier Virtual Family Office™ is a good example of this. It is a premium coordinated planning approach that positions participating advisors as the primary coordinator across a client's financial, estate, and legacy planning — working alongside attorneys and other professionals rather than around them. This is not a concept. It is a practice model, and it is part of what advisors affiliated with the Genesis Advisor Alliance can bring to their own clients. The AI Estate Coordination App currently in development takes this further — a tool built to work with attorneys in a structured, compliance-aware way, which is a capability that most independent practices simply do not have access to.
The coaching element is also different from what most affiliation programs describe. Scott is not an OSJ, has no plans to pursue Series 24 licensing, and has no interest in supervising a large roster of advisors. His role is coaching and business development — which means the relationship is lateral, not hierarchical. He is building a focused group of serious advisors, not a franchise. If you want to author a book that anchors your authority in your market, he is walking through that process himself and can guide you through it. If you want to think more rigorously about behavioral finance in your client relationships, that framework is built into the way the Alliance operates. The infrastructure is designed to evolve — and advisors affiliated with the Genesis Advisor Alliance evolve with it.
There is one more element worth naming that rarely appears on a program's slide deck: you will not be building in isolation. Going independent is a decision to own your practice — it is not a decision to work alone. Advisors affiliated with the Genesis Advisor Alliance have access to each other as a genuine peer network — a sounding board for planning ideas, a second opinion on a business decision, and a connection to advisors who are working through the same challenges. The dynamic is informal and lateral, not managed or scheduled. But when a situation calls for a second set of eyes, the group is there.
About Scott Jones
Scott Jones, BFA™ CPFA® CRPC® RFC®, founded Genesis Wealth Advisor Group, LLC after transitioning from the Ameriprise employee channel in 2011. He has navigated the wirehouse-to-independent transition firsthand — which means he understands what the process actually involves: the due diligence, the timing, the negotiation, and the psychological shift of building something that is genuinely yours. He has also navigated an independent-to-independent transition, which gives him a perspective on affiliation decisions that most practice management consultants do not have.
His work is concentrated in three areas: behavioral finance applied to client relationships and practice development, retirement income planning, and the Genesis Premier Virtual Family Office™ as a service model for clients who want coordinated planning across their financial lives. He is currently completing a manuscript — a practical guide to financial planning grounded in behavioral finance — and he coaches advisors through the same writing and publishing process using AI tools. The book is not a marketing gimmick. It is an exercise in clarifying what you believe and building an asset that outlasts any single client conversation.
Scott is not building an empire. He is looking for a focused group of advisors who are growth-minded, serious about their practices, and not looking for a boss — because that is not the relationship the Genesis Advisor Alliance offers. If you are the kind of advisor who builds deliberately, takes the business side of practice seriously, and is interested in what a genuine peer affiliation looks like, the conversation is worth having.
"I transitioned from a wirehouse myself. I know what you are weighing, what you are worried about, and what the first year actually looks like. That experience is what I bring to every advisor in the Genesis Advisor Alliance — not a program, but a relationship with someone who has done what you are considering doing."
— Scott Jones, BFA™ CPFA® CRPC® RFC®
